Open plan space with vintage glass globes grouped to define areas and botanical prints inspiring colour ***** A tired low ceilinged, brick built ranch style bungalow constructed in 1970 has been transformed into a light-filled contemporary house. ? Daylight floods into the expansive internal spaces from the new triple glazed floor to ceiling windows and doors, which lead from every room onto the south facing terrace and from the new master bedroom on the first floor onto the balcony.? The exterior gabled sections are now clad in grey painted weatherboarding which is typical of the area and provides a contrast to the brick. The original central gable was raised to accommodate a double height galleried entrance hall and the master bedroom suite in what was formerly loft space. The bedroom was designed to take advantage of the view - the bed placed centrally faces folding glass doors which open onto the balcony and a panoramic view of the countryside.? A new-build barn-like structure at the western end of the building replaced the garage and kitchen/utility areas.? It comprises an open plan 11.8m long kitchen, dining and informal living room where another set of glass doors fold back allowing easy access to the south-facing terrace.?Meticulous attention to detail paid to technical details are matched by decorative flair.? In the hallway a path of patterned tiles lead the eye from the front door to the living room straight ahead and down the passages - on one side to the kitchen and on the other to further bedrooms and the view of woodland visible through a wall of glass. In the kitchen fifteen vintage glass globes are suspended in three groups from the 4.8m high ceiling.? Lighting the kitchen, dining and seating areas they can be controlled individually to create pools of low level light such as over the dining table, or combined when required to maximise the light level. Boldly patterned tiles from the same range add colour and individuality to the contemporary style bathrooms.?
